Electro-Hydraulic vs. Torsion Bar Press Brakes: How to Choose
Compare control, repeatability, application fit, and purchasing priorities before selecting a CNC press brake.

Both electro-hydraulic and torsion bar press brakes can produce reliable sheet metal bends, but they serve different priorities. The right choice begins with material type, maximum thickness, bending length, drawing complexity, required repeatability, and expected production volume.
Electro-hydraulic CNC press brakes are generally selected for more demanding repeatability, multi-axis control, and production that benefits from synchronized hydraulic control. Controller brand, crowning, back-gauge axes, safety systems, and tooling can be configured around the target parts.
Torsion bar press brakes provide a practical structure for standard fabrication, maintenance workshops, and buyers who value straightforward operation. Before ordering either type, confirm voltage, tooling, controller language, installation conditions, and after-sales requirements.
